Enrichment at our school enhances the quality of the education we provide to our community. For us, this means three things in particular:
Creating memorable moments
Developing life skills
Day to day nurturing of the whole child
Our top priority at school is the day to day nurturing of the children. This comes through high quality teaching and guidance in all that the children bring to school and all they are as children. We make use of a range of experts, including play therapists, to develop the children's whole being.
In addition we provide a huge range of opportunities through the children to gain enriching experiences which include Themed Weeks, vision days. talent shows, trips and visitors. Among many other things, every child in the school is given the opportunity to learn a musical instrument, swim and take part in a residential trip.
Our creative topic-based curriculum is also enhanced through Wow Starters and Grand Finales and we provide a range of extra-curricular clubs to further develop their opportunities to experience different things.
-Invited more parents to school to share their knowledge and skills and provide new experiences for the children
-Create a list of opportunities that will be available to every child in the school before during their time at Wheelers Lane - inspired by the National Trust's list https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/50-things-to-do
-Complete reasearch with parents and children about what they think is important, then use this to inspire next steps
-Increase the amount of activities children do with children not in their own year group
