Education has a role to develop skills attitudes and knowledge in young people. At WLPS we want every child to have a wealth of experiences and opportunities in all areas of education. It is important for the children to have this education in order to be able to make life choices. We want children to realise the opportunities that life offers and understand what they need to do to achieve their ambitions. Success can come in many forms and at WLPS we aim for every child to do the very best that they can in every area and to realise the reward of hard work, perseverance and resilience.
Leaders have high expectations of pupils and staff. We are ambitious for all pupils and promote improvement through an engaging and challenging curriculum.
The school sets aspirational targets for end of year results.
Children take part in challenging learning experiences and encourage pupils to work independently.
Children are encouraged daily to improve on their previous best. Lessons are planned to guide children to reflect on their learning, enjoy their success and work on the next steps. This can be seen in their English and Maths books, children can talk confidently about their work.
Progress is tracked and monitored regularly by class teachers, subject leaders and senior leaders.
