Summer 2- Week 3

We began our week with our class photos this week. We can't believe how fast this half term is passing us by! The children have begun to talk about Year 6 and have started making plans for their final year at Wheelers Lane. We voted for our House Captains and were very proud of all children who put themselves forward. We are very much looking forward to watching our new house captains grow over the coming year.

In English this week, we have been trying to write a chapter of "The boy in the striped pyjamas" from a different perspective. This is a very tricky skill but has helped us to understand how character's might feel in a particular situation. We discovered that Bruno's family servant had his own past and that Mother was kinder than she liked to make out!

In Maths, we have looked at timetables. Not only is this useful for transport, but it helped us to think about what our timetable may look like as we move on up to secondary school.

We have also had lots of fun with our Science investigations, discovering how water resistance and upthrust affect objects in water. We got quite messy but it was definitely worth it!
