Week 2 It's anti-bullying week this week and the children have been reflecting on their rights and considering how they can "choose respect." We have completed some great activities on this and the children have shown that they have a secure knowledge of what bullying is and how it should be dealt with. Our right of the month is Article 28: Every child has the right to an education and we believe that anti-bullying week has helped us to promote this. In English, we have begun our new unit on Myths. We have enjoyed looking at a range of Viking and Greek myths and then retelling them using story maps. Hopefully, this will help us to write our own original myth in the future. We have started subtraction in Maths and are working hard trialling a new way of doing Maths thanks to Miss Alsaraf. This means that the children can spend time thinking about values of a number and how this can translate into other workings. For example, how many calculations can you complete using 563-100= 463? Next week, we have a representative from Swanshurst school coming to tell us all about their "Marvellous Mondays" programme. Ask your children about this- it is a fantastic opportunity!
