The JLT does a number of things:
The JLT meets - with a teacher present - to discuss and sort out any issues. This includes improving learning, identifying any barriers to learning and making sure we are a Rights respecting school.
Members of the JLT will be responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed.
A good JLT is one that represents the views of all students and gets things done. These are some things that will make our JLT successful and effective:
- Regular meetings
- A team that is not too big
- Class councils that meet regularly led by their member of the JLT – once a fortnight on Thursday mornings
- Good communication between representatives and their class
To create able learners
To put the pupil voice at the heart of learning and school life.
To ensure our school aims are carried out.
To work alongside staff, to improve teaching and learning for everyone.
For pupils to have an input on school issues – e.g policies, teaching and learning.
To help embed rights in our school and achieve the RRSA.
