Spring 2- Week 7

Our Spring half term is coming to an end and we can't believe that it is only one more term before our lovely Year 5 children move up to Year 6! The progress they have made so far is fantastic and the teachers are really looking forward to everything that is planned for next term.

In English, we have finished writing our balanced argument. This was one of the most tricky pieces of writing yet. Not only did we have to present two sides of an argument in an impartial way, we also needed to write in third person and the present tense! The children really rose to the challenge and produced some amazing writing.

In Maths, we have been revising our skills covered so far this year. It is always good to check in and refresh our brains with this knowledge and the children have really enjoyed working in groups to problem solve. This revision also relates directly to our PIXl assessments, so the children were pleased that they had the chance to work on questions that they may have found tricky when they first saw them in our Spring assessment week.

We hope that all of our families have a lovely break, and that the children return to school refreshed and excited to begin our new topics. Curriculum newsletters will be sent out at the beginning of next term, alongside the new homework grid. A date for your diary is Tuesday 2nd July: Children will be visiting Severn Valley Railway to immerse themselves into the lives of people during WW2.
