Indoor Climbing at Redpoint

We started the day with 'get to know you' games to familiarise ourselves with each other. We had fun creating a human loop and transporting a hoola hoop around us and practised throwing and catching bean bags while trying to memorise each other's names. We then warmed up and practised our climbing skills using our very own school climbing wall. There were games of speed and skill and many competitions were won. Later on, we learnt about the climbing equipment that climbers use regularly. After that, we learnt some essential climbing knots. After lunch, we boarded a bus to Birmingham to visit Redpoint Climbing Centre. We had a lot of fun challenging ourselves to climb up increasingly difficult routes. Some of us even had a go on the glow in the dark climbing wall, whilst the rest played games in 'The Cave'. As well as actual climbing, we also learnt a little about climbing safety and technique.
